Objectives

By attending lectures, students are expected to acquire some basic notions in Analytical Chemistry. Particular emphasis is put on the importance of analysis towards solving real-world problems. Tutorials: Resolution examples are presented, as well as exercises on topics previously discussed in lectures. Practical classes: set of 5 laboratory experiments designed in order to allow students understand theoretical concepts discussed in lectures an tutorials.

Learning outcomes and competences

Teaching methods and learning activities

Lecture material can be followed on slides available in the web page of the curricular unit. Tutorials: Resolution examples are presented, as well as exercises on topics previously discussed in lectures. Practical classes: set of laboratory experiments and their reports, designed in order to allow students understand theoretical concepts discussed in lectures and tutorials.

Evaluation Type

Distributed evaluation with final exam

Assessment Components

designation Weight (%)
Exame 75,00
Trabalho laboratorial 25,00
Total: 100,00

Eligibility for exams

Attendance of at least 75% of the tutorials and practical classes.

Calculation formula of final grade

Final mark = 75% exam (possibility of fractionated evaluation)+ 25% tutorials and practical classes. Theris the possibility to replace the exam by two writen tests. Choosing the test option it is not possible to upgrade the classification in the Normal exam season.

There is a mininal mark of 8 at the exam.

There is a mininal mark of 9.5 at tutorials and practical classes.
