The cycle of studies encompasses two alternative paths, Chemistry (without specialization) and Chemistry - Specialization in Functional Materials and Surfaces for Sustainability which are differently organized.
The cycle of studies leading to the Master in Chemistry degree (without specialization) consists of:
a) an organized set of courses corresponding to 60 ECTS credits, which confers a Specialization in Chemistry (not the Master degree);
b) a curricular unit with a component of integration in the surrounding social reality, designated as Chemistry and Society, which corresponds to 3 ECTS credits;
c) a Dissertation, of scientific scope, or a Professional Internship, either requiring a final report, original and specifically made for this purpose, corresponding to 57 of the total 120 credits from the cycle of studies, and whose public defense will lead to the award of the Master in Chemistry degree.
For the path of Chemistry - Specialization in Functional Materials and Surfaces for Sustainability, the cycle of studies consists of:
a) an organized set of courses corresponding to 75 ECTS credits, which confers a Specialization in Chemistry, not the Master degree;
b) a curricular unit of preparation for the Dissertation or Internship, designated as Project of Dissertation/Internship, corresponding to 15 ECTS credits;
c) a Dissertation, of scientific scope, or an Internship, of professional profile, either requiring a final report, original and specifically made for this purpose, corresponding to 30 of the total 120 credits from the cycle of studies, and whose public defense will lead to the award of the degree of Master in Chemistry - Specialization in Functional Materials and Surfaces for Sustainability.
The list of optional curricular units consists of the current offer, which may be subject to changes approved by the Scientific Committees of the Faculty.
