Description:

The Erasmus Mundus Master on Wine Tourism Innovation (WINTOUR) offers an integrated study program that takes advantage of the know-how in Tourism and Oenology of three universities and regions of Europe. Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona, Spain), University of Bordeaux (France) and University of Porto (Portugal). These universities are located in highly attractive touristic areas, recognized with the label of UNESCO Human Heritage, and have a long tradition on wine, producing specialty wines such as sparkling, fortified, aged red and sweet.

Pre-enrolment periods:
1st period (for students applying for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship): from 16th of November 2017 to 20th of February 2018.

2nd period (for self‐funded applicants): from 1st of April 2017 to 31st of May 2018

VIT4014 - ECTS Students should acquire knowledge regarding sales strategies and marketing for the promotion of wines during festive occasions. Students must acquire such pratical experience about sales promotions through a pratical placement.
Students must acquire knowledge about the perspectives of the consumer regarding the system: wine, bottle, label and sealing system, using different techniques of free sensory profile, including the evaluation of the emotional profile

Practical Winemaking

VIT4011 - ECTS The student should have an objective and direct knowledge of the practices associated with winemaking and that ranging from the choice of grape and quality control, mechanical processing and biotechnological techniques, and quality control of the final product. Participation in this kind of activities will allow students to have a better understanding of the operation and logistics of a cellar, a knowledge of specific equipment working, and the complementarity of the different disciplines involved in the process of wine production

Fortified wines

VIT4012 - ECTS Acquire a general knowledge of the distinct steps from grape maturation to the ageing of the wine, in fortified winemaking conditions.

To kow different fortified wines of the world.
