The goal of this unit is to prepare students for their dissertation in the following semester

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of this unit the student must have studied of the state of the art of the dissertation area,  defined the boundaries of the research work, and planned the tasks required for this work

Working method



The proposals for dissertation are put forward by members of the Department of Computer Science, or by
external researchers, including industry people with which the members of the Department have research
collaborations. The proposals are validated by the responsible for the curricular unit.

The student will evaluated based on
1- a short presentation covering the definition, state-of-the-art, approach and planning of the dissertation;
2- a first draft of the dissertation containing just the introduction and the state-of-the-art.
Both component will have the same weight on the final grade of this work unit.
