This degree prepares competent, versatile and able professionals, whether to analyse common environmental problems or to take detailed decisions and find solutions that are both ecological and economically viable. The skills and knowledge acquired as a result of this programme will allow its graduates to take on middle or upper level technical positions whether in the public sector or in the private or in self-employment in the environmental sector consulting firms and those in the service sector, local governments and governmental agencies and laboratories, industry and teaching.
Positions appropriate for those with Master's degrees in CTA include those in: effluent and residue management; environmental education; eco-efficiency; installation of systems of environmental quality, hygiene and environmental and occupational safety; environmental impact management; natural resources management and conservation; nature management and conservation; quality evaluation and control; the prediction, prevention and remediation of natural disasters; the description and treatment of areas of active desertification; and the recuperation of surface mining sites.
Candidates for the Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Technology must have a First Cycle degree in environmental science or any other degree in which environmental science and technology plays a central part.
