Teaching methods and learning activities

The UC of Anatomia Humana I will comprise two lectures of 60 minutes per week and 1 practical session of 120 minutes per week.

The lectures will include the presentation of concepts of general anatomy, introduction or overview of major themes and descriptive explanation of issues.

The practical classes will be taught in the Teatro Anatómico of the Department of Anatomy, FMUP, and will comprise the observation, identification and description of structures.

Eligibility for exams

In agreement with the Regulamento do 1º Ciclo de Estudos em Ciências de Nutrição, FCNAUP and the DR, 2.ª série; N.º 31; 13 de fevereiro de 2018

A student is considered to having attend a curricular unit if, having been regularly enrolled, he / she does not exceed the limit of absences corresponding to 25% of the PRACTICE classes given.

Exempt from the verification of the attendance conditions mentioned:

a) The students in special regimes

b) Students identified in paragraph 1 of article 19 (Regulamento do 1º Ciclo de Estudos em Ciências de Nutrição, FCNAUP), that fulfill special criteria of frequency dispensation

c) Students who have obtained attendance in at least one of the previous two academic years.

Students who do not exceed the limit of absences (25%) of the lectured practical classes will be admitted to the final exam.

Calculation formula of final grade

Students who, being enrolled in this academic year in the course unit, have not missed more than 25% of practical classes can do the final exam.

Students who are enrolled can participate in the distributed evaluation.

The EVALUATION of the 1st exam
period will include a component of distributed evaluation and a final practical exam.

The SUMMATIVE EVALUATION  of the distributed evaluation will comprise three theoretical examinations (ADT 1-3) of 20 multiple choice questions, all in the range of 0-20 values. The exams will be scheduled on days and times in this plan.The combined result of the three ADT (ADTF) will represent 100% of the final theoretical.

The FINAL EXAM will consist of a practical test.

The practical test (P) is a "gincana" and consists in the identification of a set of 30 anatomical structures. This exame is mandatory and students will be required to get a grade equal or superior to 10 in order to be admitted to the theoretical exam, or use the ADTF. The performance in the practical exam involves obtaining a minimum score of 10 points, which corresponds to the correct identification of 20 structures. The classification of 20 values corresponds to the correct identification of 30 structures. The intermediate ratings will be calculated in proportion to the number of identified structures.

For students with a rating higher than 10 in the final distributed theoretical evaluation:

CF = (3ADTF + P) / 4

The FINAL EXAM of the 2nd exam period (resit) will consist of a practical test and a theoretical test.

The theoretical test (T) consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. Will be considered approved in the theoretical examination students who obtain a minimum score of 10 points.

 For students with a rating higher than 10 in the final distributed theoretical evaluation:

CF = (3T + P) / 4

The final classification (CF) will be calculated using the formulas:

- For students with a rating higher than 10 in the final distributed theoretical evaluation:

CF = (3ADTF + P) / 4

- For students with a rating lower than 10 in the final distributed theoretical evaluation and take part in the final exam during the resit:

CF = (3T + P) / 4

The grade obtained during the ADT is valid upto 2 year after it was fist obtained. The grade of the practical exam is only valid in the school year in which it was obtained

Examinations or Special Assignments

not applicable

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

In accordance with the nº 2 e nº 3 do Art. 13 º of the Estatuto do Trabalhador-Estudante from Universidade do Porto (DR, 2.ª série; N.º 31; 13 de fevereiro de 2018)

Classification improvement

Final exam that implies the realization of both practical and theoretical examinations, according with the “Quadro de Cálculo da Classificação Final”

In order to make grade improvement, students will have to take the practical test and the theoretical test. The improvement of a single component of the evaluation is not possible.

According to the DR, 2nd series; No. 31; February 13, 2018; students who, having obtained approval in a curricular unit of the study cycle in which they are enrolled, or were enrolled as final students, who wish to improve their classification, may take a final exam, once per curricular unit, until the2nd exam period of the school year subsequent to the year inwhich approval of the curricular unit was obtained.
