Objectives
the goal it to present students with the present economic, social and environmental realities; and with the different projectual approaches that can help attenuate some less positive elements with which designers are faced on the course of their activity.

Design as means to create, though its interventions, social and cultural responsibility
The role of design as a strategic element capable of reducing superfluous consumption in a consumption society
Design as a promoter of economic growth through na etical and responsible approach
Design as a promoter of an active citizenship
Service design
Collaboration and Co-design
Learning outcomes and competences
Raise awareness to an integrated overview of the territory of intervention, understood in its geographical, social and cultural perspectives intertwined with the infrastructures offered by local administrations. Students must be able to demonstrate creative ability to find, through services design, new solutions to problems that public authorities have difficulties to overcome.
This subject embodies a transdisciplinary approach aiming to create a platform where design interacts with anthropology, sociology, psychology and economics.
It is intended to incentivise and motivate the debate and the search for a projectual philosophy that is both pragmatic and responsible, which takes into account the challenges contemporary societies face and the responsibilities designers have in meeting them.
For this, several exercises of reflexion and critique will be launched (based on project situation and bibliographical research) , which will allow:
- critical commentaries that will allow for the research, analysis and reflexion on the topics under study
- implementation of the acquired knowledge in the proposal developed for the discipline of Project Design.
With this model it is intended to incentivise theoretical research and promote its immediate application in a creative but objective way, within practical contexts that are relevant for the project praxis.
