Objectives

The UC aims to introduce students to the methodological issues arising from the new phase, already autonomy in the second year of the course and monitoring of UC thesis.

 Has defined the following objectives:

Addressing the research possibilities in art;

Develop, in a wide range of singularities the methodological adequacy to each project;

To develop skills that allow the necessary autonomy in the development of personal research;

Deepen individual skills in the methodology towards research presence within the area where the research is grounded.

Improve the process of scientific writing needed for research

Learning outcomes and competences

The UC is presented as an ongoing forum for discussion and dialogue about the methodological research hypotheses that can be adjusted to an area (artistic practice) that, being broad and complex at this level, is the least problematic. This is a factor of risk and added incentive to the methodological issues that may be unorthodox but never wrong. Chances tested by students in dialogue with others, present a wide range of solutions for the methodological issues that place the investigations in the territory where they want to be part. Lucidity, also on the methodological level, of the issues raised by a natural posture are a precious help to carry out the proposed research project.

Theoretical unity of methodological support to individual research work proposes the following contents as potential development of necessary discussions that this matter fosters:

Experience Research in Art

Mapping the possibilities tested in various institutions and countries;

The methodological plurality and uniqueness of the art in research method;

Research in art: from theory to practice or practice to theory, possibilities and examples of conveying made research;

Methodological peculiarities of artistic thought and its position of externality face the canonical models of scientific research;

Analysis models investigative Art;

Practical research and artistic practice as open possibilities for development of the project;

The purely theoretical positioning as a possibility open for research into the practices of artistic production;
