Objectives

Research and Validation Image as contemporary literacy unit.

The being irreducible to discursive order visual devices contribute to the intersection and convergence fields increasingly complex opportunities in new media.

Recognition of academic, cultural and professional level of the specifics of image, as a structural entity of communication design and multiple branches of knowledge.

Development of contemporary visual narratives as integrated processes of innovation and sustainability from the reconfiguration Image cultural and technological developments.

Produce prototypes and models in the field of visual communication applied to the respective needs of the market and public.

Development of documentary devices capable of providing us a view of the world from a single regional or global default location, bringing a transmissible heritage of individual and collective memory.

Learning outcomes and competences

Suitability for the organization of visual information generating an expanded field of knowledge centered on the images capable of forming an intellectual product of wisdom .

Troubleshooting information in the public space in the field of culture and market .

Being able to develop sustainable and functional , deployed from original concepts and visual communication programs from which arise messages , media and visual devices into a face to which the design is feasible as an ethical contract with society .

Adapt and endure the process of visual design to an operational structure , as well sequenced : Understand and define a problem of communication through tangible goals and overcome their limitations . Observe and know the users on the ground . Synthesize and determine the alternatives for solving a need . Prototyping with sketches , drawings , models or a storyboard . Perform and produce visual communication . Test and repair solutions . Validate and implement visual devices or systems .

Program

Survey , file and document production of inter - media devices , arranged in narrative and thematic series , giving visibility to contemporary identities .

Production of research projects theory and practice , developed from differentiated and capable of producing an update and an upgrade of traditional dimension of design communication approaches , introducing a new field of reflection , which we called the Design Document Image .

Developing research projects applied in contexts of visibility and operation templates and visual communication systems through media devices , exhibitions , editorial , educational and literacy fronts .

Creating repertoire founded on technological and creative procedures related to the preparation , formatting , production and breakdown of a visual narrative that integrates image and word in a comparable manner in visual devices structured along functional and operational standards for a universal user . This program should be targeted and optimized for the purpose of resolving an information problem , description and documentation of facts and social realities . This same repertoire will result to formatting content and prototypes that will support the Proposed Research Project ( IPP) , for the second year of the course curriculum .
