This course is dedicated to the study of computational systems and the design of the interactions with them.

Learning outcomes and competences

The course studies project practices for interaction design, focusing particularly on user-centered design and on design patterns, used as tools for the study and critical analysis of interactive systems. The course also studies methodologies for the evaluation of the usability of systems and for the design of user experience.

Working method

This course is developed in sequential modules, dedicating time for exposition, reflection, discussion and the development of exercises associated to each module:

  • Sistems of patterns for interaction design;
  • Usage of interactive systems;
  • User-centered design;
  • Content organization: information architecture;
  • Design framework;
  • Navigation;
  • Composition;
  • Methodologies for the interaction design project.
