The purpose of this syllabus is to uplift the philosophy of Olympism, giving special attention to culture and education. It will be also important to understand its pedagogical dimension, its humanistic message as well as the multicultural, universal and agonic character that springs from its bosom. The Olympic motto “citius, altius, fortius” will guide us to a new appreciation of Olympism in this contemporary era, making us aware of the necessity of a greater respect and responsibility concerning the pillars of the Olympic Movement: education, sports, culture, environment, development and peace.
