The Master in Rehabilitation is part of the ESEP’s post-graduate training policy, within the framework of a strategy aligned with its statutory mission. The course is based on the interconnection between research, teaching, and responding to the health needs of the population.
This Master’s Degree has as its reference the Nursing Order Formative Plan for specialized training in Rehabilitation Nursing.
The purpose of this Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation is to help students develop and deepen their cognitive, instrumental and attitudinal skills to assess the person’s functional condition and environment, enabling the future master in Rehabilitation to diagnose needs in specialized care in Rehabilitation, with a focus on the implementation of specialized nursing interventions aimed at optimizing the functionality, self-care capacity, social participation and quality of life of the person and the family, based on the best evidence, thus promoting the quality and safety of health care.
The course respects the requirements and principles of analysis of the specialized training in Nursing of the Portuguese Order of Nurses, particularly regarding the possibility of later awarding the professional title of Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing to the holders of the Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation.
