Information and Communication Technologies for Visitors

Visitors of the U.Porto have at their disposal several ICT resources and services, depending on the activities they will carry out at the university. This portal allows visitors to have a global view of the reality of the university: its history, its governance, its organizational structure, its relation and communication with the world outside the academic community, etc.

The Information and Communication Technologies Portal (ICTs) provides detailed information on this area. You can access the ICT Portal by clicking on the link of the menu “Options” on this page.

The web pages of the University and of its Faculties are supported by the SIGARRA Information System developed at the U.Porto, allowing visitors and the general public to know the various scopes of activity within the University, including information on: courses taught, research, development and innovation activities, academic life, ongoing projects, facilities, regulations, etc. Most of this information is public, therefore permission to access the system will not be necessary.
Depending on the length of the visit and its purpose, credentials may be provided to visitors to access the SIGARRA information system.

Generally speaking, visitors can access the Internet using the wireless network available on campus. This connection is automatic for visitors from other institutions who already use the eduroam service. If necessary, the Service Desks or the Computer Services of each faculty will help you with the network connectivity.

Visitors accommodated in the residence halls of the U.Porto who do not have student or collaborator credentials must contact the relevant Computer Services to obtain information on how to use the wireless network in these facilities.
