Objectives
This laboratory aims to complement students training on research methodologies by promoting the knowledge and competencies regarding quantitative data collection and analysis through the implementation of small research projects on relevant educational issues.
Program
Fundamentals of quantitative research in education.
Defining research questions. Research design and population.
Methods for data collection. Research with survey and questionnaires (formulating items, pre-testing, anonymity, length , …). Issues of reliability and validity.
Panning and implementing a small-scale study. Research review. Data collection and coding. Constructing a database on a SPSS format. Selecting procedures for data analysis. Data analysis and discussion of the results.
Writing and presenting a research report.
