The Laboratory of Pharmacognosy of the Faculty of Pharmacy conducts both teaching and research activities in the area of natural products.

Our main interests include natural products chemistry and the biological and pharmacological potential of naturally-sourced matrices and compounds. We are particularly interested in new chemical entities obtained from plants, marine organisms and insects.

The activity of the group is developed in the framework of REQUIMTE (Rede de Química e Tecnologia)
