Orientation Days

A Faculdade de Engenharia está a organizar os "Dias de Orientação", evento destinado aos estudantes internacionais que vai receber no 1º semestre. Para o ano académico 2012/13, a FEUP irá receber cerca de 500 estudantes de mobilidade, no âmbito dos programas ERASMUS, Ciência sem Fronteiras, MOBILE, Erasmus MUNDUS, assim como ao abrigo de acordos com outras universidades estrangeiras, nomeadamente com os EUA.

Os "Dias de Orientação" consistem num programa de 2 dias, que inclui uma sessão de boas vindas, em duas línguas (português e inglês), cuja abertura será realizada pelo Diretor da FEUP, seguida de várias apresentações que versam temas de interesse e de integração dos estudantes na FEUP, seguindo-se de uma visita ao campus da FEUP e de uma confraternização intercultural num snack internacional, onde os estudantes são convidados a trazerem iguarias dos seus países. No 2º dia, os estudantes terão a oportunidade de conhecer o centro da cidade do Porto, num programa cultural que lhes foi preparado e onde a prova do vinho do Porto não é dispensada.

The Faculty of Engineering is organising the Orientation Days, an event addressed to the incoming international students of the 1st semester. For the academic year 2012/13, FEUP will receive approximately 500 mobility students within the ERASMUS, Science without Borders, MOBILE and Erasmus MUNDUS programmes, as well as within the existing agreements with universities from other countries, namely USA.

The Orientation Days have a two-day programme, and they include a welcome session, both in Portuguese and English, to be opened by the Dean of the Faculty. The welcome session will be followed by different presentations that will facilitate the integration of the new students, after which an international snack event will allow the students to share between each other flavours from different countries. The second Orientation Day will take the students to the city centre of Porto, engaging them with the culturally significant chance to visit one of the Port wine cellars, familiarise themselves with the wine-making process and finally taste port wine - vinho do Porto.
