MIEIC/LBAW: Lectures 2/2|"Web Development in Portugal"

On May 21st, it will take place in Room B002, at 11.30 am, the lecture "Web Development in Portugal", issued by Sérgio Carvalho, CTO at Portugalmail.

The presentation will focus on how Portugalmail organizes itself around its business model:
* How does the company manage its scale of operation;
* How are development teams organized according to the business constraints.
Portugalmail is a web company, with two relevant business areas: cloud email services and the blog.com.hosting service.
The company's business model is based on incremental development on top of successful open-source software, combined with the competitive advantage of large scale operations.

Sérgio Carvalho is a Software Engineer from Porto. He graduated in '99 from FEUP's Informatics and Computer Engineering degree, and in '09 from the Magellan MBA at EGP-UPBS. Currently, Sérgio Carvalho holds the position of CTO at Portugalmail.
