Ata holds a Ph.D. degree in Power Electronics from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. Prior to this, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the Electrical Engineering Faculty of Iran University of Science and Technology in 2006. He also received a Master’s degree in Power Electronics from the Engineering Faculty of Azarbaijan University in Iran in 2010.

His career includes working as a developer, designer, co-founding his own company, and leadership roles at different corporate levels.

Currently, in his full-time role, he is a Global SVP heading up 5X and Next Generation Turbine Product Platform at Siemens Gamesa. He has also performed as Global VP of Electrical Technology at Siemens Gamesa. Through his global organization he is leading profuct development in CTO area across modules and rest of the value chain fuctions across business, operation, manufacturing. Before joining Siemens Gamesa, he was a Director at Vestas with an organizational footprint across Denmark, Portugal, and India. He is also collaborating with FEUP as an invited Professor.
