How to get to FEUP?

FEUP is located in Portugal, at the north limit of the city of Porto, near of the "Estrada da Circunvalação (EN12)" and close to the "Hospital de S. João".

If you have Google Earth installed, you may download the file FEUP.kmz and open it to see FEUP's localization. If you don't, you must firts install the Google Earth (available at http://earth.google.com).

By metro

FEUP is served by the D line of Metro (yellow) at the C6 zone.

The D line (yellow) connects the University Pole to the Town Hall of Gaia in 15 minutes, passing through Trindade, where it has connection with lines A (blue), B (red), C (green) and E (violet). You must get out at the IPO station, contour the Campus S. João, carry on that long street. You must cross the transversal road and get to FEUP!

By bus

There are 4 bus lines in the Faculty’s area: 204, 300, 301 and 803.

From the S. João Hospital, there are other lines of STCP and regular routes to other cities.

To choose which one is more appropriate for you, please check these websites: www.stcp.pt or www.itinerarium.net.

How to use the SMS Bus service of STCP?

The SMS BUS is the new service that STCP is offering you and that allows you to better profit your waitting time.

It is a written messages service by mobile phone, that allows you to know, in seconds, when (what time) it will pass the next bus in your bus stop.

To know when it will arrive the next 5 bus to your bus stop:

• To write a message with the code SMS BUS that you want;
• To send the message to the number 68998 (cost of €0,20).

To know when it will arrive the next 5 bus of the line that you want to your bus stop:

• To write a message with the code SMS BUS, followed by a space and the line number;
• To send the message to the number 68998 (cost of €0,20).

By car

The best way to find Faculty of Engineering is to follow the indications to Hospital de S. João. We present you now the routes from the principal origins to FEUP.

If you come from Ermesinde, Gondomar and Valongo by the "Estrada da Circunvalação (EN12)":

You must go by the EN12 until you find the Hospital de S. João on your left. Continue through the traffic lights with Roberto Frias Street and keep left. At the next crossing with traffic lights, turn left onto António Bernardino Almeira Street (IPO will be on your right) and go straight until the intersection with Dr. Plácido da Costa Street, where you should straight ahead. Keep to the left until the next crossing, where you must turn left. Drive straight along this street until you reach another intersection, where you must turn left. Continue until the end of the road that intersects with Dr. Roberto Frias Street, where you must turn left. Keep right until the intersection with Via Estruturante, where you must turn right.

If you come from Maia and Matosinhos by the"Estrada da Circunvalação (EN12)":

You must go by the EN12 until you find the IPO on your right. At the crossing with traffic lights, turn right onto António Bernardino Almeira Street (IPO will be on your right) and go straight until the intersection with Dr. Plácido da Costa Street, where you should straight ahead. Keep to the left until the next crossing, where you must turn left. Drive straight along this street until you reach another intersection, where you must turn left. Continue until the end of the road that intersects with Dr. Roberto Frias Street, where you must turn left. Keep right until the intersection with Via Estruturante, where you must turn right.

Car park

FEUP has 3 car parks. All of them have access from the Via Estruturante (perpendicular to the Dr. Roberto Frias Street), that contours the south perimeter of the Faculty.

	Access to the park by teachers and staff (permanent staff) and to the visits park;
	Access to the park by students of Undergraduate Programmes;
	Access to the park by students of masters, doctorates and non-permanent staff

By train

If you arrive to Porto by train, you’ve got 2 choices:

• To get out at the Campanhã Station.

  In this case, you must catch the metro and choose one of the following lines: A (blue), B (red), C (green) and E (violet). You must do the transfer at the Trindade Station and catch the D line (yellow). After that, you must follow the indications that are given in the “By metro” option.

• To get out at the S. Bento Station.

  In this case, you must catch the D line (yellow) of the metro. You do not have to do any transfer. Then, just follow the indications that are given in the “By metro” option.

By plane (Sá Carneiro Airport)

The quickest way to get to FEUP, if you dont’t have your own car and if you don’t want to go by taxi, is to catch the metro, E line (violet). You must do the transfer at the Trindade Station and catch the D line (yellow). After that, you must follow the indications that are given in the “By metro” option.
