Master in Computer Vision

Computer Vision (CV) is an emerging technology and VC's industry has grown tremendously year after year. The Master in Computer Vision will enable graduates to acquire a general knowledge of CV, as well as to ensure the ability to analyse the needs of a company in the scope of these techniques and to propose and apply the most suitable existing technological tools. The Master in CV offers the employer a professional profile oriented to the computer vision, with theoretical and practical training in a variety of technical solutions that provide a solid and broad knowledge of the area and allows the professional to analyse the needs of a company and provide innovative solutions.

The Master is an International Programme, offered jointly by the University of Porto, University of Santiago and Compostela, University of Vigo and University of Corunha. The Master is totally offered in English.

Objectives

The course aims to offer advanced training in Computational Vision (CV), enabling the capacity to :
- know and apply concepts, methodologies and technologies for image and video analysis;

- know and apply concepts and techniques of machine learning applied to computer vision;

- critically analyse and evaluate technologies and methodologies; 

- analyse the needs of a company in the CV field and develop the best technological solution; 

- identify theoretical results or new technologies with innovative potential and turn them into products and services useful to society;

- autonomous learning for specialization.

The specific competencies are jointly offered with transversal competencies, enabling to exercise the profession with an awareness of its human, economic, legal and ethical dimension; ability to work in team, organization and planning.


Professional Abilities

The Masters in Computer Vision curriculum is anchored in real-world problems with a component of development projects in the area of Computer Vision. MVCOMP thus aims to train highly specialized professionals capable of taking the lead in complex and large-scale Computer Vision projects with quality requirements.

-Programmer in computer vision projects;
-Responsible for the computer vision project development team
-Visual inspection; quality control; assisted and autonomous driving, automation and robotics, biometrics, medicine
