FEUP's SIGARRA

SIGARRA is a service that enables the registration, retrieval and handling of information about several Faculty processes.

Processes involving students, staff or users of external institutions are kept in SIGARRA.

Terms and Conditions of Use

Users must use their access credentials for SIGARRA components in an appropriate and professional way.

Procedure

FEUP's SIGARRA, also known as SIFEUP, is a service that enables the registration, retrieval and handling of information about several Faculty processes.

SIGARRA has three main components:

  • Management of Human Resources (GRH);
  • Management of Students (GA);
  • The aggregating component, accessible online at http://www.fe.up.pt.

This last SIGARRA component includes several interconnected modules that are closely linked to the other two components.

Through this component users can, for example:

  • Manage the news published on the system, controlling access to this content;
  • Manage the legislation made available on the system, controlling access to this content;
  • Disseminate information about the Faculty's internal organization (services and departments);
  • Disseminate information about programmes, curricula and courses offered by the Faculty;
  • Disseminate information about the Faculty's staff and students;
  • Disseminate information about the projects and publications of members of the Faculty.

A portion of the information published on the system is public, but access to the remaining information is controlled, being reserved for certain users. Here are some examples of public information:

  • News with unrestricted access;
  • The list of programmes;
  • The list of courses included in a programme;
  • The list of members of staff;
  • The list of students.

There are several processes and procedures that only users with valid credentials can gain access to. For example:

  • Request certificates;
  • Submit request forms;
  • Look for employment opportunities.

Staff from FEUP services can, for example:

  • Manage course registrations (SERAC);
  • Manage the issuing of certificates (SERAC);
  • Manage submitted requests (SERAC);
  • Manage staff travel expenses (SEF);
  • Manage requests for the authorization of expenditure (PAD) (SEF);
  • Manage staff holidays and absences (DRH);
  • Manage print quotas for users (CICA);
  • Manage the registration of attendance and absences and the scheduling of holidays;
  • Check the records of the Human Resources application (GRH);

Staff from FEUP Departments can, for example:

  • Enter the work distribution for the programmes they support;
  • Manage the class registration process for the programmes they support;
  • Submit requests for the authorization of expenditure (PAD);
  • Enter information about their projects or publications.

Programme Directors can, for example:
