Special selection and admission procedures exist for applicants for higher education with the following qualifications:

• Selection process specially designed to evaluate the abilities of applicants above 23 years of age;
• There is a special selection process for those applicants already holding degrees of higher education, post-secondary and middle level degrees as stipulated in Article 10 of Decree-Law 393-B/99

In any one academic year, a student may only submit an application in one special admission process. Applications are only valid for the year in which they are filed.

There is a special admissions process to evaluate applicants above 23 years of age.

Scope Degrees to which such candidates may apply Ranking Criteria Applications The application must be handed into the Undergraduate Department of this Faculty, together with an application fee of 55 € (as per the UP Fee Schedule).

Article 10 of Decree-Law 393-B/99 establishes special admission procedures for applicants already holding degrees of higher education, post-secondary and middle level degrees.

Scope This admissions process is designated for:

• holders of a university degree;
• holders of degrees in extinct courses such as Teacher’s College, Early Childhood Education and General Nursing who are able to prove both their secondary level diploma, a diploma complementary to a secondary degree or the successful completion of the 10th/11th year of secondary studies;
• holders of a specialised diploma in technology.

Ranking Criteria 1. The criteria listed will be used in the following order for ranking applicants:

	a)	Depending on the applicants in question, the average marks of the degree or medium level degree in decreasing order;
	b)	The level and the diploma, with successive priority given to holders of second level degrees, students who have attended non-diploma courses of higher education, holders of degrees such as the former ‘bacharelato’ or ‘licenciado';

2. In the event that the mark average referred to in item a) of Article nº 1 appears on the certificate with a decimal point equal to or higher than 5, the mark shall be rounded to the immediately following higher number. Applications Applicants must submit the following documents:

• Application Form;
• Photocopy of Identity Card, Citizen’s Card or Passport;
• Power of attorney, if applicable;
• Proof of degree with all the necessary elements for judging the application;

The application must be handed into the Undergraduate Department of this faculty, together with an application fee of 55 € (as per the UP Fee Schedule).
