Portugal has a strong connection with the Aquatic Environment, from an urban, recreational, industrial, or economic point of view. Our Exclusive Economic Zone is the largest in the EU and an important part of the population lives on the coastline or around the main river basins.
The Aquatic Environment is, admittedly, a relevant source of wealth, but it is subject to intense environmental pressure resulting from demographic and industrial development. This ecosystem is subject to strong pressure on biological resources, which it is important to know how to manage and exploit in an environmentally sustainable way, based on scientific criteria, in order to contribute to Blue Growth and thus increase value creation and sustainable growth in the economy Portuguese blue.
The Masters essentially covers the following topics: Aquaculture; Aquatic Biology; Biodiversity of Aquatic Organisms; Dynamics of Aquatic Populations; Aquatic Ecology; Ecotoxicology; Aquatic Ecosystem Management; Environmental impact; Biological Water Quality; Fisheries.
Train technicians specialized in proper management, exploration, and preservation of the aquatic ecosystem. The Master is specially designed for biologists and graduates in related fields, who wish to improve their knowledge and skills in various aspects related to the aquatic ecosystem, in order to ensure its preservation and sustainable exploitation of resources, and thus contribute to the creation of value and sustainable growth in the Blue Economy.

The ranking will be done according to the following criteria and sub-criteria:
The adjusted grade is obtained by normalising the grade to the 0-20 scale, adding the value of ln(R/r), and rounding to the nearest integer in the 0-20 scale, with ln expressing the natural logarithm and R and r being, respectively for the University of Porto and the university issuing the degree, the positions in the world ranking published in http://www.webometrics.info
